2009 will be an exciting year for the town of Madison and area businesses. You may have heard some of the buzz around town about the Madison Challenge. The Challenge is a fun and friendly community-wide, team-driven health and wellness challenge, starting on January 5th, 2009. Teams of 5 will be competing against each other for great prizes while improving their quality of life by Eating Well, Moving Well, and Thinking Well. The Challenge will include 4 health fairs in which each team’s progress will be tracked, and Madison businesses will be showcased. Also, there will be Health and Wellness seminars throughout the year where each team will have the opportunity to learn valuable tools to help them Eat Well, Move Well, and Think Well.

As a Madison Chamber of Commerce member, you already know the importance of the support of Madison businesses to Chamber events such as this. We need your help in the following ways to make the first ever Madison Challenge a success.

1) First and foremost, we need sponsorship to help fund the various events throughout the year. The sponsorship levels are included in the enclosed packet. Depending on your level of sponsorship, your business will receive year-long exposure at all Madison Challenge events and seminars, as well as a link on the Madison Challenge website. This is a great cost-effective opportunity to give your business exposure as well as show your own personal commitment to health and wellness.  To ensure that your ad will appear in the Madison Challenge Handbook, which will be handed out to all Madison Challenge team members, please send the enclosed Sponsorship flyer with ad copy no later than December 15th, 2008.

2) We need donations as prizes and incentives given to teams who complete their goals and earn the most points for Eating Well, Moving Well, and Thinking Well. This is a great way to expose potential new customers to your business!

3) We need business owners who are interested in offering a presentation at one of our weekly health education workshops. These seminars will offer basic education on various topics under the Madison Challenge categories of Eating Well, Moving Well, and Thinking Well. Please contact us for more information and a registration form if you are interested in being a presenter.

4) We need teams of 5 to participate in the Madison Challenge. This is an amazing opportunity for your employees, family members, and friends to adopt a healthier lifestyle. We hope that this Challenge will contribute to greater productivity at work, less sick days, encourage camaraderie between employees, and strengthen ties between family and friends.

We ask for your support on any and all of these levels...we are looking forward to Eating Well, Moving Well, and Thinking Well in 2009. Won't you join us?

Sincerely,
The Madison Coucil on Health & Wellness
